Steamed Performance by Abhaya and The Steam Injuns
It’s already 5:30 and there is a sense that the program is going to start late as usual. After kept waiting the audience more than a hour, Abhaya & The Steam Injuns rocked the show with the song ‘Sirima Siri’ as the opening number and followed by ‘Sadhai Sadhai’. The musical program entitled “Letting Off Steam” was organized by Indian Cultural Centre at Russian Cultural Centre, KamalPokhari, Kathmandu.
In all, Abhaya and the Band performed 14 songs, some from their previous album, some from their upcoming album. They presented both Nepali and English songs. “Gauna Deuna Hamilai” is some sort of ironic performance dedicated to Nepal Police esp Ma Pa Se. During one and half long program, the band raised the voice on some social issues like domestic violence, youth frustration to name a few.
Abhaya continuously keeps up the pace with her power packed performance one after the another. She dedicated the song “Timi Bina Bachidinchhu ma” from their upcoming album, to one of her band member. The Band performed “In my Life, in my Dreams, in my Sorrow, my shadow follows me” as their last song tonight dedicated to the youth those who travelled abroad for education, jobs and didn’t come back.
The rocking mood of the songs and the enthusiastic audience made a perfect combination. The audience was enthralled by the performance and the hall was almost packed to the hilt. The event was also graced by Russian Ambassador.
We like to share some moments from the event with you all. Hope you all like it.
