Sabai Thikai Hunchha : Astha Tamang Maskey
Astha Tamang Maskey, is one of the talented female singer/songwriter, Nepali Music Industry has. Her unique style of singing and composing songs makes her different from that of others. She has got unique voice texture. Astha Tamang Maskey, originating from Nepal and rising in the Toronto independent music scene, is an aspiring new talent . Graduating from the Independent Music Production program at Toronto’s Seneca College (2008), she developed the necessary skills to begin her career as an Independent artist.
Astha released her first music album “Sabai Thikai Hunchha” in January 2009. The album contains 8 songs with 1 English and 7 Nepali. The songs are co-written by Astha and her mother Susan Maskey. The album is a mix of acoustic, live and electronic music. The songs, “Gotta Be Love”, “Jhuto Satya” and “Sabai Thikai Hunchha” are the biggest hits from this album. “Jhuto Satya”received a nomination for “Best Rock Vocal Performance” on Image Award 2009. Sabai Thikai Hunchha is more than just a Nepali pop album, for a change it’s a pop album by a Nepali, one that sets a new bar for the music industry in Nepal.
