Lochan Rijal’s Chetana

Lochan Rijal is an ethnomusicologist, a multi-instrumetalist singer and a songwriter. His music blends various musical genres to poetic form that create multi-layered allusions and symbolic parallels drawn from every day life. He has won several national awards for his albums and an international award for his performance. After the long gap, finally Lochan released his newest single “Chetana”.

Lochan Rijal’s Chetana was written and composed in 2009. Although the song has been performed live in many concerts it was recorded recently. The recording and pre-mastering of this song was done in Sound Consultant, Naxal, Kathmandu by Binaya and Pradeep Upadhaya respectively. The Guitar, Vocals, Dhimey and Sarangi was performed by Lochan. Dayla Stoerzbach, the guest performer associated with the Boston String Quartet, US, played the Viola. The mastering of the song was done in Studio 301, Sydney by Leon Zervos.

Lochan Rijal’s Chetana is completely a different and fresh touch in Nepali Music. It’s a complete fusion type of music which starts with guitar plugging and then Lochan’s unique singing style. The music is great so is the lyrics. The lyrics of this song reflects the social conditions and one’s expectations within this social circumstances. As usual Lochan Rijal has done a great job.

lasty dami rahicha yar. Malai ta english geet sunnai man layena. Dhoti ko ta kurai chodau. Ma ta international category ma grammy awards hune bhaye lochan dai kai chetana lai dinthe. Superb lyrics,vocal,music and video. Keep it up. It’s the best song that has been made since 2000 B.S
