1974 AD : Nepalese Rock Band

1974 AD are Nepalese rock band, formed in Kathmandu, Nepal in the early 1994s. They experiment with various genre of music including Nepali folk, ragas, rock, funk, blues and jazz as well. 1974 AD are amongst the most successful recording artists in Nepal. Most of their albums are ranked among the top-ten best-selling albums according to the Hits FM of Nepal. This band is also partially affiliated with the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory. They are also known as “The Beatles of Nepal”.There concert named ‘Rock Yatra ‘ in 2000 AD was witnessed by more than 60,000 people. This is a record concert in Nepal.

Songs and albums produced by 1974AD are usually in the “Nepali” language. Lyrics include themes of patriotism, Nepali virtues, unity, love and nationalism.Theres a lot of veriety in the music of 1974 AD. They have successfully tried various genre in Nepali Music Industry.We can say that 1974 AD is one of the topmost and most popular band of Nepal. Their music compositions are liked by not only youngster but also by people of all ages. They are fond of doing different experiments in music.They are the inspirations for many new and upcomig artist.We can find soul in their music which heals the people’s heart.

1974 AD is very active in charity performance since its beginning days, it has performed more than 40 charity concert in Nepal till date.1974 AD has contribute a lot in Nepalese music industry and still carying on. Hope that they continue their journey far ahead and will give more fantastic and healing music ahead.

Charity Concerts
1974 AD has performed more than 30 charity concerts and donated N Rs 2,35,000/- for flood victims in 2002 and 50,000/- for the labor fund, Doha 2004. Still 1974 AD is very active in charity performance since its beginning days, it has performed more than 40 charity concert in Nepal till date.

Nowadays they are in London for their musical tour.
